another blast..

white animals

Got me thinkin about others-saw this band growing up around Chattanooga in 80s & early 90s..everywhere from the Baylor School to Michaelangelo’s and several times while I was @ Sewanee.. In fact, they played a part in me choosing Sewanee over Emory LOL…one saturday during my senior year in high school I told my parents that I was going to the library to work on paper that afternoon but instead made a journey up the Mountain to check out ‘college life’ (little did I know that it happened to be Spring Party Weekend of all times). Anyway, parked the car and got out in front of the KA house and the White Animals were performing “Brown-Eyed Girl” and the decision was made..

The White Animals were formed in 1980 by Vanderbilt resident Dr. Kevin Gray & his guitar teacher. This pretty much sums them up,

“Indeed, they were. The rock ‘n’ roll powers-that-be might not have realized the band’s potential, but people putting on a party knew that the White Animals were the perfect vehicle for a raucous, upbeat evening. While the punks and the metalheads snarled at their crowds, the White Animals built their reputation on good vibes and bringing people together.”
