Recipe: The Southside cocktail

Whether it originated in Chicago or New York, this cocktail classic “combination of mint, lime, & gin make this drink one of the all-time greats.”

2 oz gin

3/4 oz fresh lime juice

3/4 oz simple syrup

1 dash Peychaud’s bitters

1 mint sprig

Bruise the mint with a muddler in the bottom of your shaker and then add all the other ingredients. Add ice and shake. Serve up in a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a floating mint leaf.
